Custom embroidery with a portrait of the dog Cali

For this project, we created a custom embroidery inspired by a dog's face, applied to a black polo shirt.

The design features Cali, rendered as a compact embroidery with fill areas and colored details for the eyes, muzzle, and fur. The name was embroidered below the image to make the item fully personalized.

Animal Portrait Transformed into Embroidery

Embroidery based on an animal photograph requires careful adaptation. The image cannot be directly transferred to the fabric. It must be simplified and transformed into a pattern suitable for stitching.

For this type of work, the following are important:

• head shape;
• expression;
• contrast between fur and fabric;
• positioning of eyes and muzzle;
• correct selection of shades;
• final size of the embroidery.

The goal is not to reproduce every strand of fur, but to preserve the features that make the animal recognizable.

Embroidery on a Polo Shirt

The black polo shirt provides an excellent background for light-colored embroidery. The contrast between the fabric and the threads makes the design easy to notice, and the embroidery gains dimension.

Placement on the chest is suitable for such a portrait. The image remains visible but does not overpower the item.

A personalized shirt with a favorite animal can be worn daily or given as a gift to a loved one.
